Lakeland Marine Ltd has been an owner operator business for 34 years
In 1976, Bob and Judi Smith moved from Wellington to Lake Taupo to start a marine business on the waters edge in the Taupo Boat Harbour.
From the first day of operation, we have been Lake Taupo’s authorised Mercury Marine Dealer.
At that time we sold all brands of second hand launches and runabouts, with priority given to marine service.
Then in 1988, an American friend importing Bayliner boats into New Zealand approached us requesting that we sell the world famous Bayliner product line for him.
Four years later, the Bayliner Corporation in Seattle, approached us direct; appointing Lakeland Marine Ltd as their authorized importers and retailers of the Bayliner line.
Since taking on Bayliner, we have sold approximately 3,000 cruisers and runabouts and are well established in the New Zealand power boat scene.
Today we are a sole franchise dealer for Bayliner product. We stock an extensive spare parts inventory, enabling us to provide customers with complete, all round service and parts for all models in the range.
Our 12,000 square foot showroom always has a complete range of the Bayliner product line on the floor for viewing and demonstration, along with used boats and accessories.
LAKELAND MARINE LTD is located on the shore of beautiful Lake Taupo. We are a respected, authorized Bayliner Dealer as well as a Mercury / MerCruiser Dealer. Being located on the lake shore, we can supply new Bayliner boats and have a repair facility you can trust to get proper maintenance done, or get your boat back on the water as soon as possible! We are equipped and trained to handle any servicing, authorized warranty repairs and upgrades to ensure your boat is in top condition for your boating experience.
We take pride in our professional repairs, expert care, and will take special care of your investment while repairs are being completed. We will even store your boat if required while repairs are carried out. We also offer other services that include complete detailing, fibreglass repairs and painting, Electrical repairs, Upholstery repairs etc.
We are also a authorized Mercury Marine / MerCruiser Dealer. All your warranty repairs can be professionally carried out at our workshop facility no matter where you purchased your boat. We can take care of everything involved with your engines, Stern drives and Mercury products in our one-stop facility staffed with Mercury Trained technicians.
In our showroom we have a comprehensive range of Bayliner runabouts and cuddy cabin boats, We also have a good range of Bayliner, MerCruiser and Mercury Outboard parts in stock including a range of the required oils, propellers etc. To add to your boat we have good range of essential items including Life Jackets, Fenders etc. We carry Engel portable fridge/freezers which are considered one of the best, if not the best units of this type around. To add to that we stock Leatherman Multi tools and knives, the world leading Serengeti Sun Glasses and not forgetting the super bright LED Lenser torches.
Good service starts with Factory Trained Technicians. We use factory parts and lubricants to keep your boat up to manufacture specifications. Our workshop performs repairs the correct way and does not take short cuts which could hinder your boating experience.
